CANCELLATION POLICIES

 

Motorcoach trips:


OVERNIGHT TRIPS
45 DAYS OR MORE BEFORE your trip departs-You will receive a Full Refund for the cost of your tour.

 

WITHIN 45 DAYS BEFORE your trip departs-
Under $300 -$50 per person fee
$301-$500 -$75 per person fee
$501-$700 -$100 per person fee
$701-$1500 -$125 per person fee
$1501 and up -$250 per person

 

These aforementioned fees are IN ADDITION to any monies that may have been advanced on your behalf.

 

ONE-DAY TRIPS
30 DAYS OR MORE BEFORE your trip departs-You will receive a Full Refund for the cost of your tour.

 

WITHIN 30 DAYS BEFORE your trip departs-
Under $100 -$20 per person fee
Over $100 -$30 per person fee

 

These aforementioned fees are IN ADDITION to any monies that may have been advanced on your behalf. We’re sorry; show and event tickets are non-refundable and the property of Starr.

 

If you must cancel after regular office hours, call Starr at 1-800-782-7703 ext. 1600. Leave a message including your name, phone number, destination, departure date, tour number, pick-up point, and 6-digit reservation number.

 

Air/Cruise/Rail Trips:

TRAVELING OUTSIDE OF USA
All US citizens should have in their possession proper proof of citizenship when leaving the country, such as a valid passport, original birth certificate or naturalization papers. Those persons traveling to Canada, who are not U.S. citizens, please check with the Canadian Consulate General at (212) 596-1600.

 

SPECIAL NEEDS:
Please inform us of any special needs you may have at the time you make your reservation. Please note that we must know in advance if you have a disability that prevents your independence. A travel companion that will assume full responsibility for your care and mobility must accompany you. Passengers requiring a wheelchair must provide their own collapsible wheelchair. If you choose to bring a motorized scooter, it is your responsibility to load it onto and off of the motorcaoch as Starr drivers are not permitted to handle motorized scooters.

 

COACH SEATING:
Motorcoach seats are assigned at the time of booking, however they are subject to change. There are no assigned seats on transfers to and from piers/airports and on selected trips.

 

SMOKING: In accordance with the law, smoking is not permitted onboard the coach. We have picture stops, rest stops, and lunch stops which give opportunities for smoking.

 

BAGGAGE:
Each passenger is permitted to bring one piece of luggage for storage in the luggage bay of the coach. Because we care about our drivers, we request that each piece of luggage not exceed 50 lbs. A small bag, if carried by the passenger and stored in the overhead compartment on the coach, is permissible. VALUABLES AND MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE CARRIED ON BOARD THE COACH.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS:
TRIPLES and QUADS are sold with the understanding that there will be two double beds in the room. In some hotels, triple accommodations are two beds and a roll-away cot. If cots are available, they may be subject to an additional charge by the hotel. ADJACENT ROOM, ADJOINING ROOM, 1st FLOOR ROOM, and SMOKING/NON-SMOKING ROOM requests can be made at the time of booking, but may not always be guaranteed.

 

TAXES AND GRATUITIES:
Your trip includes all gratuities for bellmen, doormen, and dining room meals included in the trip and all related taxes unless otherwise specified. Gratuities for guides, tour director, and drivers are not included in the price of your trip. If you wish, such appreciation may be extended on an individual basis and not as a group. Guidelines are Driver-$3.00 per person per day, Tour Director-$3.00 per person per day.

 

YOUNG TRAVELERS:
Starr offers several one-day trips with reduced rates for children.  Children 12 & under save 10% on all overnight motorcoach trips. Travelers who are less than 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult (and on overnight trips must room with an adult).

 

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT:
Starr Transit Co, Inc., 2531 East State St. Trenton N.J. 08619 acts only as the agent for the passenger, accepts no responsibility in whole or in part for any delays, cancellations, inconveniences, loss, damage or injury to person or property, resulting from mechanical defect or failure, of any nature, howsoever caused, or for any substitution of hotels or other event or attraction, as deemed necessary, for any reason such as acts of God, war, terrorism, strike, weather, traffic, or beyond the control of Starr. Starr reserves the right to make changes to their written itineraries with or without notice.

Although every effort is made to handle guests’ luggage carefully, Starr cannot be responsible, nor assume liability or accept claims for loss or damage due to breakage, theft, or wear and tear through hotel, airline, or group carrier handling.

Starr is not responsible for any personal items left on the motorcoach or in the hotel rooms.
