Guided Sightseeing tour of Newport
Enjoy the charm of Newport's historic buildings and restored homes on our Guided Tour. Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive and the fabulous mansions along tree lined Bellevue Avenue.

The Breakers Mansion
Built for Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, this 70 room, Northern Italian palazzo designed by Richard Morris Hunt is the largest of all Newport "cottages" & is impressive by its sheer size. The Breakers contains original furnishings. The children's playhouse cottage has scale size, kitchen, fireplace & playroom.

Marble House
Marble House was built for Alva Vanderbilt by her first husband, William Vanderbilt of New York. Mr. Vanderbilt gave the house to his wife as a 39th birthday present.

The Vanderbilt's divorced in 1895 and Alva married Oliver H.P. Belmont, moving down the street to Belcourt. After his death, she reopened Marble House, and had a Chinese Tea House built on the seaside cliffs, where she hosted rallies for women's right to vote.

Rosecliff
Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainment here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini.

Rosecliff is a guided tour on the 1st floor with a 5 minute presentation/overview on the 2nd floor; the remaining time spent on the 2nd floor is self-guided.
