Ghosts and Dark Tales of Manhattan Tour
Edgar Allen Poe said, "Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality." That is why there is nothing like hearing a real ghost story when you are at the actual location of the ghostly appearance. On your paranormal adventure through Manhattan, stop and go inside of 2 historic homes and hear the stories of previous residents who still lurk the halls. Plus along the way, stop at cemeteries and hear of dark tales that will chill your blood and make your skin crawl.

Morris-Jumel Mansion
Morris-Jumel Mansion, Manhattan's oldest house, was headquarters to General Washington in September and October of 1776.
It later became home to Stephen and Eliza Jumel and is said to be haunted by a few spirits.

One of the most interesting and widely publicized cases of Madame Jumel's hauntings took place on January 4, 1964, when students from Public School were playing in front of the mansion. These students were accompanied by their teacher, Mrs. Betty Fitzgerald. The story that was given to Mrs. Emma Bingay Campbell, the curator of the mansion, by the students was that they were told by a woman on the balcony to "Shut up." The problem was that the building was locked and empty at the time of the incident. Both Mrs. Fitzgerald and Mrs. Campbell questioned the students, and every story coincided. The Students recognized Madam Jumel as the woman they had seen from a painting of her on the second floor of the mansion.

This tour requires medium walking with some stairs.
