Central Moravian Church; Christmas Putz
The Christmas Putz, located in the Christian Education Building, is a retelling of the story of Christ's birth through narration and music, while tiny lights illuminate miniature scenes.

Putz is from the German word "putzen" meaning to decorate. The figures in Central's Putz, many of them antiques of German origin, are displayed amidst live moss, driftwood, and rocks. The building of a putz is unique to the Moravians and Bethlehem's first settlers brought their figures with them when they settled here. In later years, families would visit each other's homes to view the putzes. Central's Putz was first opened in 1937.

Visit the Star and Candle Shoppe filled with many unique hand-crafted gifts and special Moravian items.

Visit the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem
The 1741 Gemeinhaus, Bethlehem's oldest building and a National Historic Landmark, houses a museum that tells the stories of the Moravian founders. Opening the herringbone-patterned doors of this five-story log structure, the largest 18th century log building in the United States, reveals a place which served as home, school, church, and workplace during the community's earliest days. The museum complex also includes the 1752 Apothecary, and the 1758 Nain-Schober House - the only remaining 18th century residence for Christianized American Indians in eastern Pennsylvania.

Christkindlmarkt
Recognized as one of the best holiday markets in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure, Christkindlmarkt is a delightful family event that features aisles of exquisite, handmade works by the nation's finest artisans, the heartwarming sounds of live Christmas music, delicious German and Austrian food, and more. Among the thousands of holiday gift ideas guests will discover are beautiful glass art, handmade jewelry, wheel-thrown pottery, gourmet foods and hand-crafted candles, to name just a few. The market showcases more than 100 artisans, live holiday music, and authentic German and Austrian cuisine.

Trolley runs (for a nominal fee) from market to town.
