Dedicated to man's relationship with the horse, the park features two outstanding museums, twin theaters and nearly 50 different breeds of horses. All of these elements combine to make a visit to the park an enjoyable learning experience for everyone - from those unfamiliar with the horse to the horse expert.

Dinner Show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse
Derby Dinner Playhouse is the theatrical entertainment leader in both Indiana and neighboring state Kentucky, noted for their professional productions of Broadway musicals and lighthearted comedies. Each dinner theatre production comes alive with the magic of lights, costumes, a live orchestra, and a stage full of professional performers.

Derby Dinner's freshly-prepared, home-style buffet features Classic American Cuisine. Selections include a full salad bar, a variety of vegetables, fish, fried chicken, turkey, hot rolls, and beverage. Take your time as the "Footnotes", Derby Dinner's own talented vocal ensemble, entertain you just prior to the stage production. A full bar and delicious desserts are a specialty of the house.

Show: Murder on the Orient Express
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer before they strike again.

Murder on the Orient Express is undoubtedly one of Agatha Christie's greatest mystery novels. In 2017, it was made into a feature film directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Kenneth Branagh, Penelope Cruz and Willem Dafoe.

Experience the rich history of Churchill Downs Racetrack and learn about legendary Derby winners like Aristides and Secretariat as you visit the famous Paddock and Grandstand. You'll make a stop railside at the track while your Guide shares stories of the early days of the Kentucky Derby through its transformation into the iconic event it is today.

Kentucky Derby Museum
The Kentucky Derby Museum, which sits on the front steps of historic Churchill Downs, is a very visible part of the community.

With two floors of interactive, family friendly exhibits, the Kentucky Derby Museum takes visitors through every stage of a Thoroughbred's life, from birth to the first Saturday in May. Learn about all the great history of the race dating back to the inaugural running in 1875 to our most recent Kentucky Derby champion. Experience all the traditions that have transformed the race into what it is today.

Admission also includes "The Greatest Race" 360-degree high-definition film. The movie will send your heart racing and emotions soaring.

Located in the heart of the Bluegrass State, Bardstown offers something for everyone. With unrivaled history and an atmosphere that seems to have magically leapt from the paintings of Norman Rockwell and the pages of Mark Twain, see for yourself why Bardstown was declared the most beautiful small town in America by Rand McNally and USA Today.

There are more than 300 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, with nearly 200 of them located in the historic downtown district. In fact, the stagecoach stop that was built in 1779 still stands today as a tavern, restaurant, and bed & breakfast.

Talbott Tavern
Talbott Tavern is said to be the oldest western stagecoach stop in America as the westward expansion brought explorers from the east into Kentucky.

The old stone reminder of Bardstown's beginnings still welcomes visitors to the bustling downtown area. Since the late 1700s, the Old Talbott Tavern on Court Square has provided shelter, food and drink to Kentucky travelers.
